Man charged by police investigating claims a swan was beheaded at a Tonbridge park

A man has been charged with killing two wild birds.
Hasan Fidan, of Bridge Close, Tonbridge, was arrested by officers investigating claims a swan was decapitated at Bennetts Lake.
Police were called to the town’s beauty spot, in Powder Mills, between 4pm and 4.30pm, last Tuesday.
The 46-year-old was arrested yesterday (Friday), by the Rural Partnership Team.
He has been charged with two counts of killing a wild bird and theft of a wild animal. He has been bailed to appear before Sevenoaks Magistrates’ Court on Friday, May 16.
