A man is set to run 100 continuous miles in 24 hours to raise money for charity.

Tim Kiddell, who is 56-years-old, will be carrying out the challenging run on roads, trails and farm tracks in aid of charity Latin Link.

The dad-of-four lives in East Peckham and has been an ultra marathon runner since 2012.

He has previously run in the Tonbridge Half Marathon, and completed his first-ever London marathon in 1984.

Tim, of Henham Gardens, said: "This challenge is not a race against anyone but an individual test of resolve and determination.

"I have run 5 ultra marathons this year in preparation and cross train regularly.

"The first 50 miles of the run will be physical, the other 50 will be based on mental state and determination. I've been training my mind and body."

He is seeking sponsorship from local businesses and individuals for his 100 mile run attempt.

Area representative of Latin Link, Jonathan Leeson, who Tim helped trained for the Tonbridge half marathon in 2013, will be joining him on the last 10 miles of his journey.

He said: "Tim will be doing the hard work and I'll be joining him for the last section to try and keep him going, it's a tough challenge."

Training buddy, Tim added: "I have known Jonathan for years now, his daughter used to babysit my 7-year-old twins and that's how I learnt about Latin Link.

"I want to raise £1,500 for this great cause and I’m looking forward to it. It will be a life long achievement for me."

He will be setting off on his journey on Saturday July 12 at 5pm and hopes to finish at 7pm on Sunday July 13 on the trail near Canterbury.

Organised and verified by Challenge Hub, he recently ran 85 miles on the same course, in 23 hours and 15 minutes and is hoping that 100 miles can be achieved in 26 hours.

Latin Link is an international charity with a passion for Latin America and their members work with local churches, organisations and communities to help them meet the needs around them.
