14:00, 02 September 2014

The sights and sounds of 15 century England will be recreated in Kent this month as a two-day Medieval Fair transforms the grounds of Tonbridge Castle.

The fair, now in its seventh year, will bring captivating flavour of medieval life back to Tonbridge.

Everyone is welcome to the free event and will be able to enjoy a host of 15th century sights, sounds and smells brought to life by living history group, Pelican-in-her-Piety.

Medieval re-enactments will be a main feature of the day with swords echoing on armour as fighters meet in combat and visitors will come face to face with men-at-arms decked in armour telling stories of past battles.

Medieval dishes will be prepared over open fires and a hog roast will be available throughout the weekend on Saturday, September 13 and Sunday, September 14.

The fair is organised by Tonbridge & Malling Borough Council.
