Appeal after man stabbed in Tonbridge

Two people have been arrested after a man was stabbed in the chest in Tonbridge.

Nursery Close remained sealed off until around midday today after a man was knifed yesterday evening.

Police and ambulance crews were called to reports of an assault at around 8.30pm.

The injured man was taken to a London hospital, where he remains in a serious but stable condition.

Police are now appealing for witnesses and officers want to talk to anyone who has information about this incident and in particular anyone who saw a grey A Class Mercedes in the area at the time.

An ambulance service spokesman said: "Two ambulance crews attended the scene along with the air ambulance who attended in a road vehicle.

"We responded to reports a man had been stabbed. The man, who had suffered a chest wound, was assessed and treated at the scene before being taken to a London hospital."
