Two arrests after Tonbridge pensioner fraud plot

Two men from Maidstone and Aylesford have been arrested outside a bank on suspicion of defrauding an elderly woman.
Police were called at 11.16am on Tuesday to reports of a suspicious incident at Lloyds Bank in Tonbridge High Street.
It was reported a woman in her 80s had entered to withdraw a large sum of money and was in a state of distress.
Officers quickly attended the scene and identified two men who were in a vehicle situated in a location close to the bank.
A 20-year-old man from Aylesford and a 40-year-old man from Maidstone were both arrested on suspicion of fraud by false representation.
The men have now been released pending further inquires.
