A Eurovision winner has put her Kent house on the market for almost £1.5 million after deciding to downsize now her children have “flown the nest”.
Bucks Fizz singer Cheryl Baker has decided to sell the six-bedroom cottage, located near Tonbridge, which she bought for £750,000 back in 2011.
The detached property has gone on the market with estate agents Hamptons for £1,425,000 and is on a plot three-quarters of an acre in size.
The grounds surrounding the house also include a lawn, paddock, an orchard with apple and pear fruiting, vegetable gardens and a terrace.
The property also has three bathrooms.
Baker revealed two years ago how she was struggling financially after being hit hard during the pandemic.
But a spokesman for the 69-year-old says this is no longer the case.
“Cheryl Baker most certainly is not in any financial difficulty and does not owe HMRC any money,” the spokesman said.
They added that the singer’s children have now “flown the nest” so she has decided to downsize.
Baker gained fame by winning the 1981 Eurovision Song Contest with band Bucks Fizz.
The group then went on to achieve 20 singles which reached the UK top 60, including three number ones, between 1981 and 1988.
However, she left the group in 1993 after helping them sell more than 50 million records across the globe.
In 2004, she began performing alongside Shelley Preston and fellow original Bucks Fizz member Mike Nolan as a group called The Fizz.
Baker, who has also starred on Dancing on Ice, appears to have decided the time is now right to put her two-storey property on the market.
Hamptons describe the house on their website as “a charming detached home surrounded by lovely gardens within the sought-after, picturesque village of West Peckham, featured in the ITV series The Larkins”.
They add: “The original 1930s home has been subject to a number of improvements in recent years, including a new kitchen, toilet and bathrooms.
“The detached barn has been fully renovated to create two separate one-bedroom annexes currently let as holiday properties, providing a source of income or guest accommodation, in addition to a garage.
“It is well presented and decorated in a modern style while retaining some original features such as wooden beams and floors.”
The singer explained just 12 months ago how she would love Bucks Fizz to get back together for a one-off gig to mark the UK hosting Eurovision – something which never happened.
