Pupils from Slade Primary School in Tonbridge bring Christmas cheer to Churchill Retirement Living's Waterside Lodge

09:00, 26 December 2014

With Christmas upon us pupils from a Tonbridge primary school have brought the festive spirit to a retirement lodge.

The pupils from Years 5 and 6 at Slade Primary School performed a special carol service for owners and the local community at Churchill Retirement Living's Waterside Lodge.

They sang favourites including Away in a Manger, Silent Night and Hark the Herald Angels Sing.

Anne Scherrer, regional marketing manager at Churchill Retirement Living, said: “It is wonderful to see the generations come together to celebrate Christmas. It can be a difficult time for some people, but having events such as this helps to spread the Christmas cheer.

“The pupils at Slade Primary School sang beautifully and I know that all the Owners at Waterside Lodge thoroughly enjoyed the carols and are now feeling very festive.”

The carols are the latest in a series of festive events held at Waterside Lodge in Bradford Street in the run up to Christmas, which have also included sherry and mince pie get togethers or Christmas dinner for example.

Waterside Lodge is a collection of one and two bedroom apartments designed exclusively for the over 60s, just a short distance from public transport links, shops and all the local amenities on offer in Tonbridge.
