Runner dies at Tonbridge parkrun in Audley Avenue

A man in his 30s died after reportedly collapsing at a popular parkrun.

Police were called to a car park in Audley Avenue, Tonbridge, at about 9.30am.

The runner - who was taking part in the free event which is held every Saturday - was pronounced dead at the scene.

A police spokesman said: "Patrols and ambulance crews attended and a man in his 30s was pronounced dead at the scene.

"Officers are treating the death as non-suspicious and a report is being compiled for the coroner.

"His next of kin have been informed."

The Tonbridge parkrun - which is a 5km run against the clock - is held in Castle Street every week.

It is open to all ages and abilities. The next run was planned for Tuesday, new year's day.
