Deejay Evans, 18, remanded in custody after Tonbridge town centre stabbing

A teen accused of a town centre stabbing has been remanded in custody after appearing in court today.

Deejay Evans was charged with attempted murder after a serious stabbing at 10pm on Wednesday in Tonbridge's town centre.

The victim knew 18-year-old Evans prior to the attack at the junction between the High Street and River Walk, and was treated for serious stab wounds at a nearby hospital.

A second 18-year-old has been arrested in connection with the incident and taken into custody.

A large area was cordoned off the following day as investigations continued.

Earlier today, he appeared at Medway Magistrates Court and was ordered to remain in custody until his next court date on Monday, April 26.

Investigators continue to appeal for witnesses to the incident, or anybody with information.
