Tributes to Dale Pentney from Tonbridge who was crushed by a lorry while working on the A21 Sevenoaks bypass

Tributes are pouring in for a 20-year-old man from Tonbridge who was crushed to death by a lorry while carrying out road repairs.

Dale Pentney was pronounced dead after the accident on the A21 Sevenoaks bypass at about midnight on Thursday night.

He is understood to have been working as a contractor, carrying out road repairs when the tragedy happened.

In a Facebook group dedicated to his memory, he was described as "lovely", "crazy" and "fun-loving" in tributes left by friends and family.

His sister Shain Pentney said: "He is and always will be special to everyone and a big hole will be left quiet without his laugh but his antics will never be forgotten by the lucky people he met in life. He is and always will be a joker but a very special one."

Another family member, Samantha Pentney, wrote: "Dale our lives will never be the same again don't no what to say or do can't sleep too much going on in my head love and miss u with all my heart bro."

Gemma Trask wrote: "You've given me so many funny memories Dale. I'll never forget you. I keep hearing your laugh in my head, rest in peace and love always."

Paula Pentney Salter described Dale as a "fantastic bloke with a heart of gold".

She wrote: "I keep coming back to this group thinking its all just a bad dream. Words can't explain just how much you mean to each and everyone of us.

"So many questions that will never be answered."

The road was undergoing roadworks, and had been closed to traffic when the accident happened.

The Health and Safety Executive has launched an investigation.
