Van driver seriously hurt in A21 smash

A MAN was seriously hurt early today in an accident involving two vans which closed the A21 between Quarry Hill, Tonbridge, and Morleys Farm, near Hildenborough. Police have described his injuries as "possibly life threatening".
He suffered fractures to his legs and pelvis and was taken by ambulance to the Kent and Sussex Hospital at Tunbridge Wells. The man, who has not yet been named. The other van driver escaped with minor cuts.
The accident happened just before 9am and led to both north and southbound lanes of the dual carriageway being closed to traffic and diversions being set up. One of the vans careered down a bank.
