Woman in her 60s dead in Vale Road, Tonbridge as police cordon off River Medway

A woman in her 60s has been pronounced dead after being spotted in a river.
Emergency services, including the air ambulance, descended on Vale Road in Tonbridge this morning after a person was seen in the water.
Kent Police has now confirmed officers pulled a woman from the River Medway.
The woman, who is from the Tonbridge area, was later pronounced dead at the scene.
A spokeswoman from Kent Police said: "The woman’s death is not being treated as suspicious and a report will be prepared for the coroner.
"Her next of kin have been notified."
Officers were first called out at 11am this morning, they were joined at the scene by firefighters who helped assist them at the riverside by the Town Lock.
By 2pm most of the emergency services had left the scene, though a white forensics tent had been raised.
Kent Surrey Sussex Air Ambulance confirmed it was called out to the scene but was unable to release any further details.
