Continuity lacking for Tonbridge Angels as injuries continue to mount up for manager Steve McKimm

00:01, 23 January 2015

Injuries are continuing to plague Tonbridge Angels and hamper manager Steve McKimm’s efforts to string a few wins together.

Dane Luchford made his Tonbridge debut on Saturday but didn’t even make it to half-time after breaking his hand in three places.

The former Folkestone, Whitstable and Faversham winger spent the evening in hospital and now faces up to a month on the sidelines.

He wasn’t the only Angels player hospitalised at the weekend, with James Folkes following him after being caught by a bad tackle in the second half.

An ankle injury forced Marvin Williams out of the game in the first half and he joins Luchford, Folkes, Jerrome Sobers, Nathan Campbell and Jon Heath on the casualty list.

McKimm said: “I’ve had more injuries this season than anyone else. Three more went down on Saturday, so I couldn’t make any other substitutions to impact the game."

Despite the triple injury blow, Angels came from behind to beat Enfield Town 2-1 at Longmead on Saturday.

Tonbridge are now 16th in the Ryman League, Premier Division table, two places and two points behind Leatherhead who visit Longmead on Saturday.
