Steve McKimm is in relaxed mood ahead of the Ryman League, Premier Division home clash with leaders Dulwich Hamlet on Saturday.

The Tonbridge boss has signed an 18-month contract, his first since arriving at Longmead in May, 2014. He has overseen an impressive season so far, with fourth-placed Angels three points behind Hamlet.

“It’s a good club, well run by the board with nice people,” said McKimm. “The fans are good and hopefully they have seen and noticed the hard work we have put in.

“It is a big one to start the new year but it’s just another game and I am sure Gavin Rose (Dulwich manager) will say the same thing.

“They are a side with pace and strength everywhere, that’s why they are top of the league. Winning it won’t win you the league or get you in the play-offs but we have lost only one in seven and want to carry it on.”

Nathan Elder scored twice and substitute Luke Blewden got the other in the 3-0 win at VCD on Boxing Day.

McKimm said: “It was important to get back to winning ways after a couple of draws, a massive result, and another clean sheet, making it 12 in 24 games."
