Tonbridge's Tom Bosworth has sealed his place on the British athletics team heading to the IAAF World Championships in Beijing this summer after competing in the England Athletics Trials over the weekend.
Bosworth, who had already achieved the qualifying standard on a number of occasions, sealed his place by finishing the 20k race walk in 1:25.28 at Bedford.
"It's a relief to have my place on the British Athletics team confirmed so my preparations for World's can get under way," said Bosworth.
"I knew going into the trial that finishing top two of the British athletes wasn't going to be a problem to get automatic qualification.
"It's also great to get a number of qualifying times done earlier in the season, which I did again this year, so the pressure was off me and I can now enjoy my preparations for the biggest race of my career to date.”
