Tonbridge Angels manager Steve McKimm aiming for play-off place ahead of Ryman League, Premier Division campaign
08:00, 11 July 2014
A place in the Ryman League, Premier Division play-offs isn’t beyond Tonbridge Angels this season.
That’s according to manager Steve McKimm, whose reign at Longmead starts with a home friendly against Dover on Tuesday night.
McKimm laid out his objectives for the season at a meet-the-manager evening this week.
He said: “Tonbridge have been in this league before, so they know what it’s about, and I’ve coached in this league, so I know what it’s about. It’s a tough league but I want to go for the play-offs.
“If we get there, great, and if we don’t, it’s not the end of the world and we’ll build for the next season. All I will guarantee is that the players will go out on the pitch and give 100% for 46 games.”
McKimm expects the promotion race to be wide open in 2014-15.
He said: “Maidstone, Dulwich, Kingstonian, Margate and Hornchurch will be in the mix and they’ve all strengthened, like any team would do if they want to try to win it."
Angels' fixtures for the 2014-15 Ryman League season will be announced on
Monday. Full details will be in next week’s Kent Messenger and on www.kentonline.co.uk
