Striker Billy Medlock gives Tonbridge Angels boss Steve McKimm cause for optimism with hat-trick in friendly

Tonbridge boss Steve McKimm said striker Billy Medlock had what it took to score plenty of goals when he signed him in June.
Now the 23-year-old has started to prove his manager right – and it couldn’t have happened at a better time.
Medlock, who joined Angels from Eastbourne Town after scoring 30 goals in the Ryman League, Division 1 South last season, netted a hat-trick in the final pre-season game, a 3-0 win at Walton Casuals last Saturday.
Now McKimm is hoping Medlock can carry that form in front of goal into Saturday's Ryman League, Premier Division opener against newly-promoted VCD Athletic at Longmead.
McKimm said: “Billy has been a proven goalscorer in his young career so far and those who have it never lose it. I have no doubt Billy will produce the goods for us.”
The Tonbridge boss will be fielding a new-look line-up on Saturday. He said: “Of the 15, only Jon Heath was here last season. It’s the dawn of a new era and we are all looking forward to being part of it.”
Angels travel to Peacehaven & Telscombe on Wednesday.
