ASBO man 'must behave or else'
14:56, 26 February 2007
A 36-year-old man who police say has shown a "complete disregard for others" has been made the subject of Anti-Social Behaviour Order (ASBO).
The order was imposed on Jason Coles, of Blakeway, Brook Road, Tunbridge Wells, by magistrates at Sevenoaks.
Coles was before the court having been charged with offences under the Public Order Act. He was given a suspended sentence and a community (unpaid work) order.
Under the terms of the ASBO, which lasts for two years until February 2009, Coles is prohibited from:
* Acting in an anti-social manner that causes or is likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress to any person not of the same household as himself.
* Consuming alcohol in a public place or being drunk in a public place.
Failure to comply with the ASBO could result in Coles facing a prison sentence of up to five years, or a fine, or both.
Speaking about the ASBO, Neighbourhood Inspector Simon Wilshaw said: "He has demonstrated a complete disregard for others with his behaviour and this must now change.
"The Community Safety Partnership will monitor his ASBO closely and any breaches will be swiftly dealt with."
