A BMW driver caught in possession of cocaine has been handed a three-year prison sentence.
Officers from Tunbridge Wells community policing team became suspicious of Alfred Qinami during patrols in St John's Road on September 26.
They stopped and searched the vehicle, finding 27 wraps of cocaine inside a cigarette packet in his jacket pocket.
Officers also seized £300 and two mobile phones containing text messages arranging drug deals.
He was arrested and later charged with possessing cocaine with intent to supply.
Appearing at Maidstone Crown Court yesterday, 23-year-old Qinami, of Broomhill Road, Orpington, pleaded guilty and was sentenced to three years in prison.
Chief inspector Peter Steenhuis said: "This drug dealer is not a local man and came to the attention of my proactive officers as he arrived in the town.
"I am confident the local policing team can spot the suspicious activities of cocaine dealers and arrests will be made at the earliest opportunity.
"This will send another firm message to those who seek to deal Class A drugs. It’s not a case of if they will be brought to justice, but when."
