A boy has reportedly been assaulted after a group of teenagers demanded he handed over his wallet.

Police are appealing for information following the attempted robbery in Tunbridge Wells.

The group, thought to be between two to five teenagers, approached the victim in Calverley Grounds near the exit to Mount Pleasant Avenue.

When they demanded his wallet the boy denied having one and he was attacked and fell to the ground.

One of the suspects is described as being white, between 16 and 20 years old, around 6ft tall, of skinny build and with short brown hair. He was wearing dark clothing.

The other suspects are described as being around the same age.

It happened at around 10.30pm on Thursday, June 20.

An investigation is ongoing, including forensic checks at the crime scene and a review of any possible CCTV opportunities.

Detective Constable Hayley Campbell said today: "This was an unprovoked assault on a boy who thankfully did not suffer any serious injuries.

"This type of crime remains rare in Tunbridge Wells, however, it is vital that we track down these suspects at the earliest opportunity."
