Cable repairs to cause hold-ups
00:00, 14 March 2003
TEMPORARY traffic signals are operating in North Farm Road, Tunbridge Wells, while Seeboard engineers carry out emergency repairs to a high-voltage cable.
The work is expected to take about a fortnight to finish and should be completed by March 24. Meanwhile, motorists are being advised to take an alternative route via Sandhurst Road and Liptraps Lane.
James Whitehorn, the borough council's highways manager, said: "Due to the nature of the repairs required, it is essential for Seeboard to work under traffic signal control.
"We are reviewing the effect on other highway works currently being carried out and will modify traffic management arrangements if this becomes necessary."
