A Kent hospital turned into a film set when camera crews recorded an episode of a Channel 4 show.

Leading consultant plastic surgeon, Marc Pacifico, was filmed removing pectoral implants from patient, Julian Ibbittson, for a new episode of Bodyshockers.

The procedure, which was carried out at The Nuffield Health Tunbridge Wells Hospital, will be broadcast on national television early in 2016.

Bodyshockers talks to people planning body modifications and those who regret having them done. During the episode Mr Ibbittson, 50, speaks of his reasons for having his implants removed.

The Endomol Shine Group production crew spent a day at the Kingswood Road hospital filming the whole process, from Mr Ibbittson’s arrival through to his pre-operative consultation with Mr Pacifico and the operation itself.

Director of Nuffield Health Tunbridge Wells Hospital, Joe Hazel, was pleased to welcome the film crew to record a top consultant in action.

He said: "It was great to be able to show our state-of-the-art clinical facilities and the excellent service that we offer to all of the family from the moment the patient walks in through the front door.

"We know the patient was impressed by the dedication and professionalism of our staff, from the receptionists through to the medical teams, and we’re looking forward to seeing the final edit on national television."

Mr Pacifico, who specialises in aesthetic and cosmetic surgery, enjoyed the challenge of having his every move scrutinised closely:

He added: "The procedure was fairly standard, but it’s not normal for me to have a camera man at my elbow the whole time, so that added an extra dimension.

"But it was great to be able to show the options we can offer to people who have changed their minds about something they have had done to their body and how good the results can be."
