A fine of up to £80 can now be given to people caught dropping litter in Tunbridge Wells.
Tunbridge Wells Borough Council has employed specialist members of staff to crack down on those responsbile for littering and dog fouling in the borough and a three-month trial of this service will begin on Monday.
The team will be able to issue fixed penalty notices of £80 for someone who is caught littering and a £50 penalty for anyone letting their dog foul.
The council said the same scheme has been effective in other parts of the country and there is no cost to council tax payers.
The trial comes following the council’s cabinet approving the scheme earlier in the year.
