09:00, 10 December 2014
Bratwurst and Glühwein from Wiesbaden, will be available at the ice rink once again this year.
Once again, visitors to the Royal Tunbridge Wells real ice rink in Calverley Grounds will get a little taste of Germany between Friday 12 December and Sunday 14 December when Klaus Doesseler sets up his stall selling German sausages, Glühwein and his signature giant potato curls.
All three for under £10 and served up with a Wiesbaden twin-town smile.
Klaus will be accompanied by Pete and Johanna Exel, great supporters of the towns’ twinning project who have visited Tunbridge Wells almost fifty times.
Michael Holman, Twinning Association chairman said: "The Twinning Association is delighted to have our Wiesbaden friends back again to make their warming contribution to the success of 'Christmas in Royal Tunbridge Wells'.
"Klaus has been an enthusiastic supporter of our Christmas ice rink from the word go and will be here for the fourth year running. We wish him well and hope there'll be lots of interest in the genuine German Glühwein, Bratwurst and giant potato curls."
The traditional German seasonal food and drink will add to the range of items on offer for visitors to the ice rink. As well as food and drink, the Christmas Chalets also offer high quality gifts from independent local businesses.
Royal Tunbridge Wells has been twinned with the elegant spa town of Wiesbaden since 1989 when the two towns signed a twinning charter. 2014 marks the twenty fifth anniversary of the signing of the charter
