Police, fire crews and medics were called.

A Kent Fire spokesman said: "A woman has been released from her car following a crash involving two other vehicles in Bayhall Road, Tunbridge Wells, which left one car on its side.

"Firefighters stabilised the vehicle and used battery-powered cutting equipment to create space, allowing paramedics to assess the casualty's condition."

The spokesman added the woman was then transferred to an ambulance following their 35-minute operation which two fire engines had attended.

The road was blocked in both directions, eventually clearing just after 8.30pm.

It was the second major crash in Tunbridge Wells today, as police are on the hunt for a driver who failed to stop after a three-car crash on the A26 Eridge Road.

The ambulance service has been approached for comment.
