Flat blaze woman taken to hospital

A ELDERLY woman was taken to hospital and treated for smoke inhalation when fire broke out in a three-storey block of flats in Tunbridge Wells last night.
She was one of six people led to safety by firefighters. The alarm was raised at about 7.45pm when smoke and flames took hold in a ground floor flat in Upper Grosvenor Road. About 75 per cent of the property was damaged.
The drama lasted some 45 minutes and the last of the firefighting crews, sent from Tunbridge Wells, Southborough and Tonbridge, left the scene at 9.30pm. The cause of the fire is not yet known.
