Tunbridge Wells Museum and Art Gallery opening hours to change

The opening hours of the Tunbridge Wells Museum and Art Gallery will change next week.
From Monday the venue, in Mount Pleasant Road, will no longer be open to the general public on Sunday and Mondays.
However, the museum service will still be available by appointment only on Mondays for pre-booked visits for research and learning.
This change will not affect the library, and its opening hours will remain the same.
The museum, along with other council departments, has gradually seen a reduction in funding from central government.
A spokesman for Tunbridge Wells Borough Council said the authority is committed to maintaining the museum service both now and in the future, as outlined in the Five Year Plan.
The decision to change the museum’s opening hours will enable the council to make the most efficient use of the skills and resources of the team.
No jobs are being lost as a result of these changes.
