TUNBRIDGE Wells MP Archie Norman has invited Connex chief Olivier Brousse to the town next month to answer criticisms that his promised improvements to train services have not materialised.

A year ago the Tory MP arranged for Mr Brousse, chief executive of Connex South East, to answer questions from himself and community leaders about the poor quality of train services and conditions in the area.

Mr Norman said: "At that meeting Mr Brousse told us all that there were no excuses for dirty trains, cancelled trains, lack of staff or short trains. His message to us was - give us a chance, Connex is changing.

"A year has now passed, and those of us who commute from Tunbridge Wells are unconvinced that the trains are any cleaner or more reliable."

The meeting is due to take place on March 21 when Mr Norman also hopes for an update on when more new trains will be seen on the Hastings-London line serving Tunbridge Wells.
