Tunbridge Wells: Crews battling fire in Liptraps Lane diversions in place
10:00, 20 July 2015
A family escaped from their Tunbridge Wells home after a fire started in one of the bedrooms.
Emergency services were called to the terraced property in Longview Way, Tunbridge Wells, just after 11.30am on Sunday.
Four fire engines attended and crews dealt with a severe fire in a bedroom.
They used main jets with water from a hydrant and a fog spike to bring the blaze under control.
They then used a positive pressure ventilation fan to clear smoke from the building and from adjoining houses.
The road was closed and the area was cordoned off by Kent Police. Traffic was being diverted via Oakwood Rise and Greenway.
Everyone was accounted for and the South East Coast Ambulance Service attended to three people at the scene, who did not require hospital treatment.
The cause of the fire is not yet known.
