A popular ice skating rink in Tunbridge Wells will open for the festive season.
Skating in Calverley Grounds has been given the go-ahead by Tunbridge Council Borough Council, after a safety assessment.
The attraction brings a large number of people to the town during the Christmas period.
Councillor Jane March, cabinet member for culture, leisure and economic development said: "I am very pleased that we’re able to share this good news.
"It is hugely disappointing that as a result of coronavirus the Assembly Hall Theatre was forced to postpone the pantomime but knowing the ice rink will be open for Christmas is very welcome."
The council announced today that this year's pantomime, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs will not go ahead, because of concerns over social distancing.
As well as a refund, the theatre is offering each person who booked the panto, a free family ticket for the ice rink.
The ice rink is expected to open on Saturday 14 November with tickets on sale in September through the Assembly Hall Theatre’s website.
The attraction will operate in accordance with the social distancing guidelines and legislation in place at the time of opening.
