A unique property near Tunbridge Wells has gone on the market for £1.5 million.
The former chapel with stained glass windows and a raised gallery has been converted into a four-bedroom house.
However, the property hasn’t fully shed its original purpose as it’s still got its own private chapel of ease.
The chapel, established just outside of the main building in 1877, is the resting place of seven local family members who once owned the property, including David Lionel Goldsmid-Stern-Salomons.
The former Mayor of Tunbridge Wells was a scientific author and horologist who, over his lifetime, gathered the largest known private collection of Breguet watches and clocks, including the Marie Antoinette.
The 1802 timepiece was one of 106 watches and clocks stolen from the Mayer Museum in Jerusalem in 1983. The watch was valued at $20 million at the time and was recovered in 2006.
The Kent-based political figure died in 1925 and was laid to rest at the sandstone chapel.
However, inside the property, there are many features that have transformed this former church building into a modern family home - while still retaining much of its unusual style.
The stunning sitting room is surrounded by chapel walls and striking stained glass windows and can be overlooked from the gallery.
There are also French doors leading out into the tranquil garden, which has a well-maintained lawn, stone walls and a peaceful pond area that is close to the historic resting chapel.
There is a cosy dining room, a spacious kitchen with a breakfast bar and three bathrooms, including an en-suite.
The four bedrooms offer quirky features such as sloped ceilings, arched windows and beams.
The property is close to Hurst Wood, with its many nature trails, and the town of Tunbridge Wells with its many bars, shops and restaurants is within walking distance.
Tunbridge Wells train station, with links to London, can also be reached by car in less than 10 minutes.

This property can be found at Broomhill Road just outside of Tunbridge Wells.
