Tunbridge Wells residents Al Ferguson and Ricky Willis have reached the final stage of the sixth annual Mum and Dad (MAD) Blog Awards.

They celebrate the UK's parent blogging community.

Mr Freguson's, The Dad Network, and Ricky Willis', SkintDad, are finalists in two categories; Best Baby Blog award and Best Thrifty Blog award.

More than 200,000 nominations were submitted this year, with just 75 blogs reaching the finals.

Mr Ferguson, of Newlands Road, said: “I am delighted and amazed to have reached the finals. I started writing a blog in 2014 due to a lack of baby and parenting resources aimed at dads. Being a finalist is a great achievement.”

The 26-year-old previously featured on KentOnline when a local photographer captured some rather unique shots of his newborn baby, Ted.

Mr Willis said: “Last year I made it to the final in the Best Thrifty Blog category and won, so to make it here again for the second year in a row is more than I could have ever hoped for”

The pair will find out if they are winners in September, at a red carpet award ceremony in London.

Sally Whittle, founder of the MAD blog awards said: “The MAD Blog Awards celebrates the thousands of parents up and down the country who have discovered blogging as a way to capture family memories and make new friends.

"The standard of entries this year was incredible, and we’re so impressed with all the finalists’ blogs."
