Trains cancelled between Hastings and Tonbridge due to flooding with many services terminating at Tunbridge Wells
20:58, 23 September 2024
Some trains are unable to run this evening due to damage caused by flooding.
Passengers travelling between Tonbridge and Hastings are experiencing delays.
The cancellations have been caused by damage to the signalling system after flooding in Wadhurst.
This brought trains to halt along the same line for several hours yesterday.
Service did return but trains were limited to one per hour.
This evening the cancellations are in place to allow the signalling system to be repaired.
Parts were sourced in the 24-hours since the initial incident to allow the line to be brought back up to speed.
The 10.45pm service from Charing Cross to Hastings will terminate at Tunbridge Wells.
The 10.50pm Hastings to Tonbridge train has been cancelled.
And the 11.48pm Cannon Street to Hastings service will also terminate at Tunbridge Wells.
Replacement buses will run between Tunbridge Wells and Hastings, leaving at 11.45pm and 12.50am.
