A man stranded with serious head injuries after falling down a slope into an embankment was airlifted to hospital in London.
Kent, Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance were called at 10.41am on Sunday to reports of a man injured in the embankment off Eridge Road in Groombridge.
The slope is in the middle of a 150km walk across the field in Tunbridge Wells and a dog walker found the man stranded after hitting his head during the fall.
Both Kent Fire and Rescue Service and the South East Coast Ambulance Service's [SECAMB] Hazardous Area Response Team attended and worked together to bring the man to safety.
The ambulance service said crews encountered access issues as a result of the location.
The man experienced reduced levels of consciousness whilst being airlifted to King's College Hospital in South London as a result of the serious head injury.
His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
