Man dies after being hit by car in London Road, Southborough

A man has died after he was hit by a car near Tunbridge Wells.
Emergency services closed London Road in Southborough yesterday morning following the collision.
It involved a silver Mercedes CLK 320 and happened at about 11.15am near Yew Tree Road.
A police spokesman confirmed this morning officers and paramedics attended, but despite their efforts, a man in his 50s died at the scene.
“His next of kin have been informed,” they said.
“The driver of the car was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
“Inquiries are being carried out by the Serious Collision Investigation Unit.
“Motorists who were in the area are urged to check for any dashcam footage, which may assist the investigation.”
