A man has come forward in response to a police appeal about a racist incident on a train.
Earlier today British Transport Police (BTP) released an image of a man they wanted to speak to after a 37-year-old woman was subjected to a tirade of foul-mouthed, racist abuse on the 9.37pm London Bridge to Tunbridge Wells train.
Police believe the man boarded the train at Orpington station.
Now, a man has voluntarily come forward to speak to officers.
PC Craig Twyman said: “I would like to thank the public and the media for their help publicising this appeal.
“The victim was subjected to a tirade of foul-mouthed racist abuse after the man engaged her in conversation.
“She felt intimidated and threatened by him and reported the incident on leaving the train."
The incident happened on on Saturday, July 25.
