Tunbridge Wells man in court after suspected stolen power tools found in wheelie bin

A suspected burglar has appeared in court after officers found power tools hidden in a wheelie bin.

Police were called to Summervale Road in Tunbridge Wells at around 7.30am yesterday morning to reports a property was being damaged.

Outside the premises they found a man standing near a wheelie bin and, when the officers looked inside the bin, they found some power tools.

After inspecting the nearby house that was under renovation, constables found the front door had been forced open.

Kalvin Tiernan, of Rowan Tree Road, Tunbridge Wells, was arrested and charged with burglary.

He was also charged with possession of a class A drug after a small amount of cocaine was seized.

The 26-year-old was remanded in custody to appear before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 4 August.
