Man given treatment for burns after hot oil sparks kitchen fire in Tunbridge Wells

A man in his fifties was given treatment for burns after a kitchen blaze was sparked by hot oil catching light.
Fire crews were called at just before 7.30pm last night after the fire started in Upper Grosvenor Road, Tunbridge Wells.
Firefighters wore breathing apparatus to tackle the fire using a hose reel jet. Smoke and fumes were cleared from the property using a ventilation fan.
A man in his fifties was given first aid by firefighters after suffering burns while attempting to put the fire out.
He was then passed to ambulance crews for further treatment.
