An image has been released of a car belonging to a missing man exactly six months after he disappeared.

Doug Carroll, 29, who is from Tunbridge Wells, has not been seen since April 20.

Thames Valley Police found his grey Peugeot 207 near the villages of Aldworth and Compton in Berkshire the next day.

Today, the six-month anniversary of his disappearance, investigators have made a renewed appeal and want to hear from anybody who might have seen Mr Carroll or his vehicle on the day.

He is slim, around 6ft 3ins, with brown hair and brown eyes.

He was last seen wearing a black hooded top, a black T-shirt, black Ellesse jogging bottoms and black Vans trainers.

He also had a black Poker Stars rucksack on his person and is believed to have had black sunglasses with him.

Investigating officer Det Sgt Jon Shaw said: "It has now been six months since Doug was last seen, and naturally, his family and his partner are very distressed at his disappearance, that was completely out of character for him.

"Since he was last seen in Tunbridge Wells, we have ascertained that he travelled to Reading and then on to Compton, where he has left his car.

"We have no confirmed sightings of Doug leaving his vehicle, and we have no clue as to where he went after doing so.

"Today, we are releasing an image of Doug’s car, along with some new photographs, and are again appealing to the public for help."

Speaking to KentOnline in May, his partner Emma Tapp explained how Mr Carroll had struggled with his mental health but said he had made a lot of progress dealing with it.

'His family need to know what has happened to Doug and we continue to search in and around the area for clues as to his whereabouts...'

"We just want to know he is safe," she said. "We just want to know he is OK. We would love him home, but it's just knowing he's OK, he can contact anyone."

Det Sgt Shaw added: "His family need to know what has happened to Doug and we continue to search in and around the area for clues as to his whereabouts.

"I would urge anybody who has any information to please contact us either online or by calling 101, quoting reference number 43210168920.

"Any information that can help may be the key to ascertaining what has happened to Doug, and so please do get in touch."
