Nuffield Health, a UK healthcare organisation has announced the acquisition of nine Virgin Active Health Clubs.
The new gyms, including a site in Tunbridge Wells, are a step towards achieving Nuffield Health’s ambition of a national network of fitness facilities.
The site in Knightspark Leisure Park, will complement the services offered by the nearby Nuffield Health Hospital and hopes to increase presence in the area.
Joe Hazel, hospital director, Nuffield Health Tunbridge Wells Hospital said: “We’re excited to be working with the new gym, by combining our expertise we can offer local people access to a range of health professionals and services that can improve their health and wellbeing.”
By introducing new services to the Tunbridge Wells gym, including a free Health MOT for every member and access to experts from Health Mentors to Physiotherapists and Nutritionists, Nuffield Health plan to enhance the gym experience, working with members to help them achieve their fitness goals.
The 60 minute health MOT measures waist to hip ratio, blood pressure, aerobic fitness, blood glucose, total cholesterol, sleep, stress, alcohol consumption and smoking habits, assesses fitness progress and includes goal setting.
Nuffield Health’s overall membership has risen to over 325,000, across 74 gyms and 202 fitness sites.
