Police called to reports of attempted burglary at Tesco in Pembury

Officers were called to reports of a burglary at a supermarket yesterday evening.
Kent Police attended Tesco in Pembury after being told a man had attempted to take cash from one of the tills around 6pm.
Reports suggest the man was wielding a screwdriver at the Pembury Road store.
A police spokesman confirmed that a 34-year-old was arrested on suspicion of burglary.
He was later charged with four burglary offences and two other offences, and was remanded in custody.
