A police and council investigation has seen a truck driver fined.
On Wednesday, Kent Police and Tunbridge Wells Borough Council carried out an investigation into vehicles carrying recycling waste.
Officers discovered a truck in Old Hay carrying a scrapped Jeep.
The driver was stopped and found to have no licence for carrying or transferring waste.
His truck was seized and a fixed penalty notice will be issued.
Checks of another vehicle in the same area led to the identification of a passenger, who was wanted in connection with an offence last year. Andrew Williams, 51, of Cooper’s Close, Chigwell in Essex, was arrested on suspicion of the attempted theft of a Ford Sierra in Dover Road, Sandwich on November 18 2017.
He was later charged and bailed to appear at Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday April 11 2018.
