It's due to a fire next to the track near the Kent railway station.

Southeastern says power had to be switched off to allow staff and emergency services to safely deal with the incident.

Trains on the Hastings Line were unable to run between Tonbridge and Hastings while staff work to extinguish the fire.

Services should be running again by 8.30pm but with only one line, so delays are still expected.

Tickets are being accepted on Arriva bus routes 7 and 402 between Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells.

They can also be redeemed on Stagecoach Bus routes 254 and 304/305 between Tunbridge Wells and Hastings.

Passengers can use their tickets at no extra costs on Southern services via Tonbridge and Hastings, as well as London Underground services via reasonable routes between London terminal stations.

In a further update issued at 8.37pm a spokesperson for Southeastern said: "Staff are just in the process of reopening one of the lines, and this will allow trains to run again via TunbridgeWells.

"There is a train in the platform at Tonbridge which will depart for Hastings once the line is open."

Elsewhere there are also delays in Ramsgate after a trespasser was removed from the track.
