Police and ambulance crews were called to an accident at Mount Ephraim last night after an 11-year-old boy was hit by a car.
The child suffered leg injuries and was taken to the Tunbridge Wells Hospital at Pembury. His injuries are not life-threatening.
The driver of the vehicle stopped at the scene, near the junction with Molyneux Park Road, at about 7.20pm and has been interviewed by police.
No charges have been brought. An air ambulance doctor and paramedic helped at the scene and accompanied the patient to hospital by land ambulance.
The A264 was closed in both directions while emergency services attended the accident, but was re-opened within the hour.
