More than 200 pupils sent home from Tunbridge Wells Grammar School for Boys after positive Covid-19 test

A whole year group from a secondary school in Tunbridge Wells has been sent home and told to self isolate after a pupil tested positive for Covid-19.
Around 200 pupils in Year 7 from Tunbridge Wells Grammar School for Boys in St John's Road were sent home at 11am today.
Kent County Council (KCC) says the child fell ill with coronavirus symptoms on Thursday, self-isolated as a precaution and has not been in school since.
After taking a test on Sunday, the results came back positive today.
All pupils are expected to return on Friday, September 25.
Close contacts are also being asked to follow the track-and-trace system.
KCC added the pupil does not travel to school on public transport.
It comes after an entire year group at Valley Invicta Primary School in Aylesford, near Maidstone, were told to go home after a pupil tested positive. The news was revealed in a letter sent to parents yesterday.
And also yesterday it emerged that at Longfield Academy, near Dartford, a member of staff had received a positive test and had been self-isolating, alongwith colleagues, although no children were affected.
