A member of the Royal British Society of Sculptors has unveiled poignant creations.
Louise Giblin, has created sculptures cast in bronze based on hand casts of 10 serving and retired members of the British military who each served in different wars to support the Royal British Legion.
Ms Giblin, sister of a retired Royal Army Medical Corp officer, believes although the military models are not famous, they deserve recognition and respect for what they have experienced on behalf of the country.
She said: "World War One was supposedly the ‘war to end all wars’ but we are surrounded by men and women who have risked their lives in countless wars since. I wanted to start creating a physical reminder and, cast in bronze, these plaques will last 3000 years."
Louise’s work focuses on what people choose to convey about themselves; for the 'Lest We Forget' bronzes her models focused on military identity or their memories.
Among the casts is Lawrence Kidman of Tunbridge Wells and squadron leader Neil Turner of Sevenoaks.
Lest We Forget is exhibiting until Saturday at Gallery Different in London
Entry to the exhibition is free.
