Tunbridge Wells skate park in Grosvenor and Hilbert Park will get a face lift as part of Heritage Lottery Fund regeneration
08:00, 12 November 2014
A well used skate park in Tunbridge Wells will be getting a face lift this winter as part of the Heritage Lottery Fund regeneration project.
The Grosvenor and Hilbert Park will receive adjustments to equipment, have unwanted parts removed and new equipment installed.
Gravity Skateparks, who built it, have taken feeedback from users and developed an improvement plan that integrates with the current design.
General repairs to ramps and surfaces will also be carried out as part of the upgrade.
Paul Allen, Gravity Skateparks’ client manager said: "The updated equipment will introduce new lines into the skate park and prolong the interest of the existing ramps."
"The skate park is so popular, it is really fantastic that we are able to use some of the lottery project money for something that will make a difference to our younger park users," said Cally Fiddimore, the park’s lottery funded community engagement officer.
The works are due to begin on Monday.
