The Stroke Unit at Tunbridge Wells Hospital has received a boost of over £2,000 from the Inner Wheel Club of Tunbridge Wells
Each year, as well as working regularly with charities, Hospice in the Weald and Headway, the Inner Wheel Club choose a charity to focus on and raise money for.
As one of their own members, as well as members of their families, had been affected by stroke, this year they chose the Stroke Unit at Tunbridge Wells Hospital.
On Friday October, 3 Beryl Wright and Rosa Apps from the Inner Wheel Club came to the hospital to meet with ward manager, Leah Towner, and other members of the Stroke Unit, to hand over their generous donation of £2785.
Beryl Wright said: “We are very pleased to be able to give this money to the Stroke Unit. We all know someone who has been affected by stroke, including one of our own members, so we felt this would be a very positive way of helping others who have had the same experience.”
Ward Manager, Leah Towner, said: “We are extremely grateful to the Inner Wheel Club of Tunbridge Wells for this wonderful donation and would like to thank them for their generosity. We intend to use the money to purchase equipment which will help and benefit our patients.”
