Students and staff at Kent College in Pembury welcomed distinguished violinist Cynthia Fleming for a day of music masterclasses.
Cynthia worked with some of the school’s most advanced string students, putting them through their paces in front of a small, invited audience of staff, parents and fellow students.
She has enjoyed a versatile international career as a violinist, chamber musician and orchestral leader.
She joined the BBC Concert Orchestra in 1982 and subsequently became Leader in 2003.
Before her retirement earlier this year, Cynthia performed and broadcast a huge range of violin solos with the Concert Orchestra, featuring regularly at the BBC Proms.
Over the past 15 years, she has become well known in Kent for her role as Leader of the Royal Tunbridge Wells Symphony Orchestra and also acts as a specialist coach for the string section.
