Children can go along to the park on Wednesday, August 6 between 11am and 3pm and enjoy lots of free activities such as woodcraft, face painting, story telling, arts and crafts and much more.

The event will be taking place in the field and woodland next to the skate park and the Hilbert Road gate is the nearest entrance.

On the evening of Tuesday, August 19, there will a bat walk through the park starting at the Bowls Pavilion at 8pm and finishing at 9.30pm.

The park’s community engagement officer, Cally Fiddimore, said: "thanks to the Heritage Lottery funded project for the park, we are able to offer these free events to the local community.

"The park provides such a great community resource and it’s fantastic to have this opportunity to make the most of it."
